I'm not excusing her, but I keep thinking her behavior is SO outrageous that she must be terrified of something, and something more than just her own nitwit collusion in unConstitutional stuff... something really big and really terrifying. They're behaving so much worse even than regular political animals.... It just never makes sense to me until I factor in the possibility that something heinous is being held over their heads.

99, for argument sake, what could it possibly be? because for me, there is not a lot of wiggle room for the speaker of the house. if you willingly assume the position that puts you third in line to the presidency, you must be willing to stake everything for the country.

but, as you write, pelosi's behavior is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO outrageous that I cannot believe anything can justify it.

that said, hopefully their is something that, at least, minimizes her culpability. because if not, i'm afraid billy thomas is right, she is just a mean spirited Power Hungry BAG.

Something like they will nuke Portland if she persists in trying to bust their asses, or stands in their way too strongly on certain things. And who knows how many skyscrapers have all their steel members painted with nanothermite! Those kind of threats, nowadays, are 100% credible. They KNOW there's way too much fucked up about 9/11 and are terrified of these fucks.

It absolutely does not excuse her! It might shave a little off my total level of hate, but I don't think I'm just dreaming up hate-mitigation tactics....

Thanks for the link TheOutsider but it's not good enough. How many times over the last two years have Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic leadership blatantly lied about what they are doing behind closed doors? Perhaps the latest and greatest example was Steny Hoyer repeatedly denying that he was working on the telecom immunity/broad spying on Americans bill. He finally changed his tune at the last minute and then proceeded to ram the bill down our throats and, wouldn't you know it, we have a new crappy law that eviscerates the 4th Amendment.

Frankly, the Democratic leadership, including Pelosi, has lied time and time again and their word is no longer good.
